The Story of Porky's Paradise
Why is this blog called "Porky's Paradise", you may ask? Believe it or not, my nickname is Porky. Donned with the name the day I was born, it has been a nickname that I would like to say has built character...although not always to my liking, especially in my younger years!
The story of my nickname goes like this: My father used to raise hogs and I was born during a thunder storm, lightening struck one of his pig houses and took the lives of some unsuspecting pigs. My grandfather proclaimed that in honor of the pigs that gave their lives I should be pegged with the nickname "Porkchops". From that came many forms of the name to include "Pork" and 'Porky". The later seemed to of stuck better than the rest. Later when trying to figure out a name for our property where we built our home, it seemed only fitting to name it "Porky's Paradise" where the Davey Family will live happily ever after...from that came the name of this blog.
